Leadership for Life Alumni NewsletterLeadership for Life Alumni Newsletter

Dear Alumnus,

Greetings from the Center for Creative Leadership! We are pleased to bring you the second issue of CCL's alumni newsletter. Thanks for your response to our first issue. Alumni stories and anecdotes are eagerly read here at the Center, so please continue to write us at alumni@ccl.org to tell us about your experiences, challenges and achievements.

In this edition of the newsletter you'll find three personal accounts of alumni journeys in leadership. There's also a fascinating interview with Peter Senge, one of the most influential thinkers on leadership and the main keynote speaker at the upcoming Friends of the Center Leadership Conference in Chicago. The recap of CCL news includes new resources and updates — you'll be pleased to hear that the Center is once again ranked by the Financial Times as one of the best institutions for executive education worldwide.

Another exciting development is that the Center is working to launch an alumni association. We will soon be sending you a survey to ask what you might want from such an association. If you would like to talk in person to share specific suggestions, please e-mail me at regol@ccl.org .

Regards,
Lyndon Rego

This Issue's Question:
How important is integrity to today's leaders?

A CCL Perspective:

Meena Wilson"Personal integrity is a distinguishing feature of effective leaders, according to research and stories told by executives and managers. Integrity is key to leaders earning trust and gaining the commitment they need to set and implement an agenda. But integrity must be cultivated through daily practice. Essential practices are self-knowledge, disciplined attention to the impact of one's behavior on others, and a willingness to constantly challenge oneself to work with others on achieving important goals. These three practices are the foundation of ethical behavior because they promote the good of the community."
