Supporting CCL

Thirty-five years ago, at a time when leadership development was a novel and not widely understood concept, the Center for Creative Leadership began its pioneering work in the field. The Center has grown into a robust institution with global reach and reputation, surpassing even the fondest dreams of its original supporters. Each year, the Center for Creative Leadership has a significant impact on some 20,000 leaders and 3,000 organizations. Since the beginning, the Center has built its portfolio of programs, products, and services on a solid foundation of behavioral science research. Our research inquires into the nature of leadership and the initial behaviors defining it, as well as how profound changes in individuals, organizations and communities can result in a higher quality of, and greater capacity for, leadership. We fund more than 250 scholarships per year for leaders of educational institutions and nonprofit organizations to attend leadership development programs.

The size and scope of the Center's activities sometimes obscure the fact that it is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational institution that seeks support to advance our mission. We are a carefully managed and financially responsible educational institution, deriving 95 percent of our operating revenue from the tuition and fees we collect. Like most other nonprofit educational institutions, we rely on the support of external philanthropists to help cover the costs of our research and development, and to help us expand our reach within all sectors of society. To fund our activities and sustain and expand our institutional presence, we receive and welcome support from foundations, alumni, friends and corporate sponsors.
