Leadership in Action

September/October 2007 issue
Review the latest issue

Improving the practice of leadership involves more than just changing behavior. It also requires changing perspectives. Through our publications, the Center for Creative Leadership aims to advance the current understanding, practice and development of leadership by disseminating the latest practical insights gained in the course of CCL's research and educational activities.

We bring together thinkers at the forefront of leadership development — thought leaders with diverse styles, viewpoints and expertise — to inquire into significant leadership-related questions, to collaborate with others in expanding the bounds of leadership knowledge and practice and to share what they have learned.

We primarily publish our leadership books and business publications in two ways:

  1. independently through the CCL Press, which issues guidebooks, fieldbooks, sourcebooks, and reports, and
  2. in alliance with Jossey-Bass, a Wiley Imprint, which issues books and a bimonthly periodical, Leadership in Action. On occasion, CCL staff will publish through other major publishers.

In addition, CCL's faculty and researchers publish numerous articles and white papers that have been spotlighted in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, Business Week, and others.

Monthly, CCL also publishes Leading Effectively, a topical newsletter highlighting relevant research and practical applications for today's leaders. CCL publishes a number of newsletters in addition to Leading Effectively — access to all of which is free. Subscribe today

All of these published resources share the practical knowledge that CCL has developed and includes a select group of practical publications written by colleagues outside of CCL. Whether you are responsible for leadership development in an organization or you are seeking to improve our own effectiveness as a leader, the publications of CCL can help you find the answers that you and your organization so urgently need.
